BLACK METAL AS FUCK

It began with Lauren and a bunch of her friends. It began -inocently enough- when a woman named Lauryn met a kindred spirit by the name of Erica. They bonded instantly at Behemoth concert where the lead singer Nergal, quite passionately spit fake blood over the two of them. It was the start of a beautiful friendship and a very long art project for me.

While you will normally find corpse-painted, sullen dudes frolicking through cold Norwegian forests in the world of Black Metal photography. I thought we could use more women who were also fans of Carl's Jr. As an homage to the true spirit of the genre, I've shot a good portion of this project using expired film and polaroid, shooting several formats and trying to keep things lofi. There was so much more than what remains here today, but again, even that feels Black metal as Fuck.
